RIVEL SOUP - ONION OR CHICKEN 
Rivel Mixture:

1 beaten egg
Salt and pepper to taste
3/4 - 1 c. flour

Onion broth:

4 tbsp. butter
2 c. onions
6 c. broth

Chicken broth:

Chicken pieces
Water
Onion, chopped

Onion Broth: Saute onions in butter until onion is tender. Add broth.

Chicken: Put in water and cook until thoroughly done with onion. Pick chicken apart. Reserve liquid by putting in refrigerator. Before making soup, remove fat from top of broth that has been hardened. Add chicken (cut up) just before heating.

Rivel Mixture: Mix ingredients with a pastry fork. Rub mixture into broth (which is bubbling on stove) between fingers. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
