SOUTHERN SPOON BREAD 
4 c. milk
1 c. corn meal
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, well beaten

Scald milk in top of double boiler. Gradually stir in corn meal and cook until thick. Add butter, salt, sugar and baking powder. Remove from heat and slowly add, while stirring, the eggs. Pour into well greased casserole dish - 2 quart size. Bake at 425 degrees for 45 minutes. This recipe may be halved. Serving suggestion: Serve hot with plenty of bacon or sausage and sliced tomatoes.
