MUSHROOM ROLLS | |
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms 1/4 c. butter 3 tbsp. flour 3/4 tsp. salt 1 c. Half & Half 2 tsp. minced chives 1 tsp. lemon juice 1 loaf white bread Clean and finely chop mushrooms. Saute in butter 5 minutes. Blend in flour and salt. Stir in Half & Half and chives. Cook until thick. Add lemon juice. Remove from heat. Remove crust from bread. Flatten each piece with a rolling pin. Spread with mixture; roll and freeze. After frozen, cut into thirds. Thaw and toast in 400 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes just until browned. If desired, brush with butter before baking. |
