OVEN SWISS STEAK 
1 to 1-1/2 lbs. boneless beef chuck steak, 3/4-inch thick
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, cut up
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped carrot
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. shredded sharp process American cheese

Cut meat into 4 portions. Combine flour and salt and pound into meat; set aside remaining flour. Brown meat in small amount of hot fat (2 tablespoons). Place meat in a 10 x 6 x 1-3/4 inch baking dish. Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet. Add tomatoes, celery, carrot, onion, and Worcestershire sauce and cook stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over meat. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Sprinkle cheese over meat. Return to oven until melted. Makes 4 servings.
