HERMAN COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. Herman starter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 c. nuts (optional)
1 c. raisins (optional)

Mix together at medium speed. Pour into well-greased 9x13x2 inch pan and add topping: 1 tablespoon flour, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter. Mix topping well and swirl through unbaked mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

While hot, top with powdered sugar glaze.

GLAZE:

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. hot water
