1/2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. applesauce or 1/2 lb. dried apples, stewed
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 box raisins
2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice

Cream butter and brown sugar well. Add applesauce or dried stewed apples and mix. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, and allspice. Add to first mixture. Fold in raisins. Bake in loaf pans at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
