FRIED TOMATOES WITH MILK GRAVY 
2 tbsp. butter
2 tomatoes, fairly lg.
Flour for dredging
Salt and pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
Cornstarch if needed

Dredge slices of tomatoes in flour, put butter in heavy iron skillet and when sizzling hot, place tomatoes in the hot butter, brown on one side then turn and brown on other side. Now remove from pan and place on platter.

Add milk to pan and stir until heated, if not thick enough, add some cornstarch. Pour milk gravy over tomatoes and enjoy.
