CORN LIGHT BREAD 
1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco oil
1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Mix all dry ingredients, then add oil and buttermilk. Let batter stand 20 minutes. Grease and flour one loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
