SHOO FLY PIE 
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. shortening
1 c. baking molasses
1 egg
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 unbaked pie shell
1/3 c. brown sugar

Mix the flour, shortening and sugar as for pie crust. Set aside 1/2 cup crumbs. Use the rest of the crumbs with 1 cup baking molasses or 1/2 c. Karo and 1/2 cup baking molasses, 1 egg, 1 cup boiling hot water with 1 teaspoon baking soda, mix well. Pour into pie shell and sprinkle the reserved crumbs over the liquid. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes, reduce heat to 350 degree and bake 15 minutes longer, until the center is done.
