SHOO FLY PIE 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. molasses
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. butter, melted and cooled
1/2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1/2 c. strong hot coffee
1 c. flour
Pinch of salt, cinnamon and cloves

Mix sugar, molasses and beaten eggs. Add melted butter, coffee and soda, add sifted flour and spices. Pour in deep 1 inch pie pan lined with pastry.

2/3 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter, soft

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until filling is set, do not over bake.
