APPLE SQUARES 
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. slat
1/2 c. cooking oil
2 lg. apples (2 c.) thinly sliced
1 c. chopped nuts

Beat sugar and eggs until light colored; add sifted dry ingredients; add oil vanilla; fold in sliced apples and nuts. Bake in 9 x 13 pan, at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool before cutting. Can be frozen.
