PIZZA BURGERS | |
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (about 4 oz.) 3 English muffins, cut into halves & toasted 1. Reserve 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Mix remaining tomato sauce, ground beef, bread crumbs, oregano and salt. Divide mixture into 6 parts; pat each into 4 inch circle about 1/2 inch thick. Pinch edge of each circle to make stand-up rim. Arrange in microwave dish or in a circle on 12 inch plate. Spread reserve sauce over patties. Cover loosely and microwave on high (100%) 5 minutes; rotate baking dish 1/2 turn. Microwave until edges are brown and firm, 4-7 minutes longer. 2. Sprinkle each patty with cheese. Microwave uncovered on high (100%) until cheese begins to melt, about 1 minute. Serve on toasted muffin halves. Garnish with snipped parsley if desired. |
