BAKLAVA 
1 lb. Filo
1 lb. walnuts
1 lb. pecans
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 lb. butter

Coarsely grind nuts and mix well with sugar and cinnamon. Melt butter and brush a 9 x 13 inch pan. Place 8 Filo sheets in bottom of pan. Brush each with melted butter as you build. Sprinkle 1 cup nuts on top of Filo. Place 3 more sheets on top. Brush with butter. Alternate until all ingredients are gone. Save 8 sheets for top. Brush top with butter. Cut through with diagonal lines to form drain and shape. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. While still hot add syrup.

SYRUP:

Cook on top of stove:

4 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 heaping tbsp. honey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cinnamon stick

Combine all and bring to a boil. Boil gently 20 to 30 minutes. Cool syrup before spooning over hot Baklava.
