DROP SUGAR COOKIES
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tsp. milk

NOTE: butter and eggs should be at room temperature for about 1 hour before using.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream butter, Crisco, sugar, and vanilla. Add egg and cream until fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients until mixture is smooth. Blend in milk. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Take a small glass, put Crisco on the bottom and dip in sugar. Flatten cookies with the bottom of the glass. Bake in 400 degree oven for 12 minutes or just until the edges turn brown. Makes about 3 dozen.
