PLAYDOUGH (NOT TO EAT) 
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. salt
6 tsp. cream of tartar
3 c. water
3 tbsp. oil
Food coloring of choice
1/2 to 1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients into pan. Mix liquids and add color. Blend the fluids into the dry and blend well. Cook over moderate heat, stirring until dough pulls away from pan sides or until it can be squeezed without being sticky. Knead as soon as removed from stove. Store in airtight container.
