TEXAS CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Sift together. Combine and bring to boil:

1 c. butter
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. water

Add:

#2 cocoa mix to
#1 dry ingredients

Add:

1/2 c. buttermilk (or regular milk)
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Bake in greased jelly roll pan at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, depending on oven. Have icing ready.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
5-6 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. cocoa

Heat thoroughly until it almost boils.

Note: 5 minutes before cake is done, mix icing ingredients, heat until almost boils and add 1 pound confectioners' sugar. Beat by hand and ice cake right out of oven.
