HELEN'S PEANUT BUTTER CREAM PIE 
Baked pie crust
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cornstarch
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. milk, scalded
3 tbsp. chunky style peanut butter

MERINGUE:

4 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2/3 c. sugar

Mix together brown sugar, salt and cornstarch. Add slightly beaten egg yolks to sugar mixture. Pour over this the scalded milk. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add the peanut butter. Cool. Pour into baked crust. Spread meringue on top and brown in oven. Double recipe for 10 inch pie.
