DATE - NUT CAKE 
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. can milk (6 oz.)
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 c. chopped dates (1 pkg.)
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter, sugar and egg. Mix flour, salt, spices and soda. Put vinegar in milk; add ingredients and mix alternately to first mixture. Then dates and nuts with last few stirs. Bake in tube pan or other at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
