MARIE LINDALL'S DATE NUT CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk
1 c. Wesson oil
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates

Sift dry ingredients. Add oil, eggs, and soda dissolved in buttermilk. Fold in dates and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees.
