CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. rolled oats
1-1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Pour boiling water over rolled oats. Let stand to cool. Mix ingredients in order listed. Sift cocoa with dry ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes in an oblong pan.
