POLS SOUP 
1 lb. leftover roast
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 head chopped cabbage
1 med. onion, chopped
8-10 potatoes, diced
1 lg. can crushed tomatoes
3 cans mixed vegetables
1/4 c. barley
Any other leftover vegetable you find in refrigerator
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown ground beef; drain. Throw in pot, cabbage, potatoes, onion. Cover with water, cook until tender. Throw in everything else. Simmer for 30 minutes. My boys named this Pols soup, that's slop spelled backward. They always eat it up.
