FRENCH ONION SOUP 
1 1/2 pkgs. onion dry soup mix
2 cans beef consomme with gelatin
5 c. water
French bread
6 lg. onions
3 tbsp. butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Swiss cheese

Brown onion in butter. Make onion soup as directed. Add consomme and 5 cups of water. Add browned onions, cook 1 hour. May thicken with cornstarch, taking out small amount of soup and mix with cornstarch. Return to pot.

To serve, put toasted bread on top of soup in bowl, also top with Swiss cheese. Put in microwave or broiler to melt cheese.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
