SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS | |
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks 3/4 c. maple flavored syrup 1/2 c. vinegar 20 freezer meatballs 1 lg. green pepper, chopped 1/2 c. maraschino cherries, drained 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 c. cold water Hot cooked rice Drain pineapple, reserve liquid. Set pineapple chunks aside. In a saucepan combine pineapple juice, maple syrup and vinegar. Add frozen meatballs. Bring to a boil and simmer covered 15 minutes or until meatballs are hot. Add pineapple chunks, green pepper and cherries. Stir together - cornstarch and salt and water. Blend into mixture in saucepan. Cook and stir about 5 minutes. Serve over hot cooked rice. Serves 4. |
