MARIE'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1/4 c. olive oil or salad oil
1 chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tbsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
2 cans Italian style tomatoes (I use crushed)
1 can (6 oz.) size tomato paste
5 qt. pot

In hot oil over medium heat brown onions and garlic until golden. Add all remaining ingredients and about one cup of water. Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer covered for about two hours.

You can add meat, meatballs to this recipe; if adding meat brown it with garlic and onion.
