2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 c. flour
4 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract

Cream butter and sugar well. Gradually add beaten eggs and liquid. Add flavoring. Sift and measure flour; add baking powder, sift again and gradually stir into mixture.

Roll out on lightly floured board; cut into shapes. Sprinkle top with white or colored sugar. Place on well-greased tin. Bake in moderate oven (325 degrees) until light brown.

Decorate cookies with colored or other icing. Some may be dipped in melted sweet milk chocolate and decorated with nuts or put together in pairs with icing between and then dipped.
