RUSSIAN OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. raisins
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs

Beat eggs with raisins and put into small bowl; set aside. Add rest of ingredients and stir well. Be sure to add eggs and raisins last. I add 1 cup of walnuts, but that is optional. Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet and bake in a 400 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. One of our favorite cookies.
