1 cucumber
1/2 medium red onion
1/2 c oil
1/4 c vinegar
1-1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
dash of pepper

Pull tines of fork firmly down length of the cucumber. Repeat this all the way around the cucumber. Thinly slice onion, separating rings. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over vegetables. Marinate 1 hour. Drain to serve.
