GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 pkg. Baker's German chocolate
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
5 eggs
3 c. cake flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 c. black walnuts

Melt chocolate in butter. Add soft shortening; cream. Add sugar and cream well. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Beat between additions. Mix flavoring, add to mix. Sift flour, measure, add salt and baking powder and sift again. Add flour and milk alternately. Beat 2 minutes with mixer or 300 strokes by hand. Add crushed walnuts (if black walnuts are not available, use 1 teaspoon black walnut flavoring). Pour into well greased 10 inch tube cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

ICING:

1 stick butter
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 beaten egg
Pinch of salt
1 box 10x powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
Evaporated milk
1 c. crushed nuts

Melt butter with chocolate. Add egg, salt, sugar, vanilla and lemon juice. Add enough evaporated milk to make the consistency to spread. Add nuts. (Do not add any more black walnut flavoring.)
