I just tried this recipe, and I added a little bit of garlic pepper and Italian Seasoning. It worked wonderfully for a very large stromboli. Will try it out again, but next time it will be used for a pizza!

good recipe for beginners for sure! first homemade pizza i've ever made and it was pretty damn good! only a couple things i would change, but nothing extreme... might have been something i did on my part too. I had JUST ran out of EVOO yesterday and still didn't pick some up so i used crisco... LOL, but it still turned out delicious : )

I did it differently using half whole wheat and half white flour. (Would use all whole wheat if it was fine ground pastry flour). Used Baking soda at 1 1/2 tsp and butter milk to activate the soda. Awesome!!! Crust came out a bit nutty in flavor.

This is terrible. It becomes VERY VERY dry if you follow the directions. Honestly it just taste like a big dry biscuit. However, I think that if the recipe were modified it could be 'better', but still not very great.

-Use Italian flour if you can. Otherwise you just taste cooked flour.

-USE CORNMEAL on the cooking surface. I don't know what this isn't in the ingredients, but it's vital for many reasons.

-Mix rosemary in the mix (user defined... I recommend a tablespoon).

-Change the bake temp from 400 to 425 or 450°F as long as you're making a new york style with some extra crust.

-Make garlic butter (garlic powder and margarine) and spread it on the crust before applying the sauce.

This crust would be great for calzones, but someone looking for a calzone crust won't find this recipe. I'll never make this crust again.

I used this recipe, but made it slightly different. I used butter, instead of oil, and added one egg to the dough to make sure it didn't tear while kneading. I also mixed some cheddar and mozzarella cheese to the dough, as well as garlic powder and Italian Seasoning. Then I added cheddar and mozzarella cheese to the sides of the pizza and rolled them to make a stuffed crust (like they do at Pizza Hut). I put it in the oven for about ten minutes, then took it out and added my home made pizza sauce. Which consisted of Ragu spaghetti sauce, 1/4 cup of butter, one teaspoon of salt, 1/2 tsp. of hot sauce, 1 tsp. of ketchup, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, pepper, soul seasoning salt and parsley flakes. Simmered this for about twenty minutes on low heat. While that was simmering, I then cut up some green peppers, red onions, and celery in a skillet and got them real juicy. Separately, I crumbled two hamburger patties and some left over Italian beef sausage in the skillet and used this for my meat. Baby, when I put the sauce on the pizza, after taking it out of the oven from cooking for about ten minutes to get the dough ready for everything, I then added the vegetables, cheese (both kinds), and topped it with the rest of the sauce. Cooked everything on 300°F for about thirty minutes. When I finished, it was a definite ministry and I have now become a disciple in the Pizza Business! Made eight large slices. Baby, it was enough left over for dinner tomorrow! Try it... you'll love it! Yvette

Dough came together nicely. Used olive oil and herbs in the mix. Flattened in a baking sheet covered in olive oil and added more oil to the top and some coarse salt. Baked for 10 then added sauce and cheese. 1/2 white sauce, pesto and artichoke and 1/2 red sauce with sausage. Yea no yeast!! Thanks for the recipe.

I will say this was a quick and easy recipe but even with a lil water to make it softer it was hard to roll out and to make for 1 pizza.
