AUNT HELEN'S GINGER SNAPS | |
2 c. flour 1 tbsp. ground ginger 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. light molasses Measure flour, ginger, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon into sifter. Cream shortening. Add sugar, cream until fluffy. Beat in egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients over creamed mixture; blend well. Take a teaspoon of dough, roll into small balls. Then roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 8 minutes or until light brown and crackly. Cool and store in tight container. |
