CHOCOLATE LASSIES 
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. molasses
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg. Beat well. Add 1/2 cup molasses and mix well. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Add the chips and nuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.
