SWEET POPPY SEED BREAD WITH
ALMOND GLAZE
 
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/4 c. sugar
4 1/2 tsp. poppy seed
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. cooking oil
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring
Almond Glaze

ALMOND GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1/2 tsp. vanilla

In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, poppy seed, baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, cooking oil, vanilla, and almond flavoring. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just moist.

Grease and flour two 8x4x2 inch loaf pans or grease 1 3/4 inch muffin pans. Turn batter into loaf pans or fill muffin pans 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until done. Cover with foil last 15 minutes to prevent overbrowning. Remove from pans.

Drizzle Almond Glaze over warm bread.
