1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. applesauce
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins & (or) 1 c. nuts

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in egg and applesauce. Sift together dry ingredients, then add to creamed mixture. Add raisins and (or) nuts. Drop on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees.
