CHOCOLATE OATMEAL BONBONS 
1/4 c. vegetable shortening or oil
1/4 c. soft butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. rolled oats
8 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Mix oil, butter, sugar, and egg thoroughly. Stir in chocolate, vanilla and oil. Measure flour, mix dry ingredients and stir in. Add oats and chill dough. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes, still a bit soft. Makes 4 1/2 dozen bonbons.
