CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick Quaker Oats (do not use instant oats)
1 c. sugar
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1/4 lb. or 1/2 c. soft butter (1 stick)
2 lg. or 3 med. eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
12 oz. pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
3/4 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped

In a large mixing bowl, pour boiling water over quick Quaker Oats. Let this stand 10 minutes. Stir in sugar, brown sugar and butter. Then add eggs. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa, then add to mixture. Stir in half of the bag of chocolate chips. Pour into greased and floured 9"x13" cake pan. Spread remaining chocolate chips and walnuts on top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. Cool before serving.
