THOSE WONDERFUL COOKIES | |
1 stick butter 1 scant c. flour (plain), sifted 4 rounded tbsp. 4X sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 c. chopped pecans Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, vanilla and nuts. This must be done slowly and thoroughly, preferably using your hands, instead of some kitchen utensil. Shape into very small ovals, about the size of 1/2 of your thumb. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees, 10 to 15 minutes, or until they begin to brown around the bottom of cookies. Use ungreased cookie sheet. Pour out on aluminum foil. When almost cool, roll in 4X sugar and store in a tin container lined with aluminum foil. (Cookies will burn or get too brown, if you leave in oven too long.) |
