PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. chopped pecans

Grease bottom and sides of 9x13 pan. Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix. Combine rest of dry cake mix, butter and egg; spread in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until light golden brown.

Prepare filling. Pour over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven 30-35 minutes until filling is set (usually takes longer to set).
