PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Grease bottom and sides of 9 x 13 inch pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix, butter and 1 egg. Mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until light golden brown. Pour filling over crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until filling is set.
