BAKED BEANS 
1/2 lb. bacon
1 lb. beans
1 onion
1 c. brown sugar
Salt and pepper
1 bottle ketchup
3/4 bottle water (ketchup bottle)
1 tbsp. La Choy Brown Gravy Sauce (bead molasses type)

Soak beans overnight and drain. Cover with water and boil for 1/2 hour. Last 5 minutes of boiling add 2 teaspoons soda. Wash beans. Place 4 bacon slices cut in half in bottom of crock. Add 1/3 of beans, sugar, salt and pepper, onion and bacon cut in squares.

Repeat for 3 layers. Mix ketchup, water and LaChoy sauce together and add to beans, sticking knife in to mix. Bake at 325 degrees for 4 hours.
