CHERRY COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Cherry, apple, or lemon pie filling
Powdered sugar glaze frosting

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add vanilla, baking powder and flour. Put 2/3 of batter in 10 x 15 inch cake pan (or 3 pie tins). Spread one can pie filling over this. Add remaining dough, dropping by teaspoonful on top, don't spread. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Frost while warm. Freezes well.
