LAZY CABBAGE ROLL CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef

1 med. onion, chopped

3 tbsp. rice

1 can tomato soup

3 c. chopped cabbage

Salt & pepper

Water

Brown ground beef with onion, salt and pepper. Stir frequently and drain grease. Add rice, soup and 1 soup can of water. Simmer 10 minutes. Place cabbage in 2 quart greased casserole. Cover with meat mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

For an extra-tasty caserole, per 1# ground meat, dice 3 slices of bacon and saute with the onion. The bacon makes a dramatic difference. Also, I'd add a small amount of garlic (chopped or garlic powder) to the meat mixture.

I would definitely try Rita's suggestion with the bacon and garlic. Also, served with mashed potatoes and sour kraut. YUM :)

I adapted this by using spaghetti sauce instead of the tomato soup-makes it a bit more hearty! I used sausage instead of the ground beef as well.
