LEMON PRUNE BARS
2 c. finely chopped pitted prunes
1 can (6 oz.) frozen lemonade, thawed
1 lemonade can of water
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

CRUST - TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

To make filling: Combine prunes, lemonade and water in saucepan; simmer over low heat about 5 minutes until prunes are tender. Blend in sugar and flour to mix thoroughly. Stir in nuts; cool 15 minutes.

To make crust/topping: Cream together sugar and butter. Add remaining ingredients; mix to resemble coarse crumbs. Press half of the crumb mixture over bottom of greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan; spread prune filling evenly over crust. Top with remaining crumbs, patting lightly. Bake in 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes until top is golden brown. Cool on rack; cut into squares. If desired, dust with powdered sugar. Makes about 3 dozen bars.
