APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. butter
2 c. plain flour
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. applesauce or apples
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 jar cherries (optional)
1 dash salt

Cream oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Add vanilla. Blend. Add apples, nuts and raisins. Bake 1 hour or longer in tube pan, 350 degrees.

GLAZE:

1/2 stick butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/8 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a full boil (1 1/2 minutes). Cook on low 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool few minutes and pour glaze over cake.
