SWEET CUCUMBER PICKLES 
10 cucumbers
8 c. sugar
5 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. mixed pickling spices
4 c. vinegar

Cover cucumbers with boiling water and let stand until next day; drain. Repeat for the next 3 days.

On the 5th day, drain and slice in 1/2 - 3/4 inch slices. Cut large cucumbers down the middle before slicing.

Combine remaining ingredients and bring to boiling and pour over drained sliced cucumbers. Let stand 2 days. On 3rd day, bring to a boil and seal in hot sterilized jars. Or on 3rd day put pickles in covered containers and leave in refrigerator. They keep this way for over a year.
