SPICY PECAN SQUARES | |
2 sticks butter 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. chopped pecans Cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg yolk. Beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients and half the nuts; stir into creamed mixture. Press into cookie sheet, bottom rubbed with butter. Brush top with lightly beaten egg whites (foamy). Sprinkle the rest of nuts on top. Bake in oven 20-25 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares. Omit salt if butter is used. |
