MOTHER'S TANGY BAKED MUSSELS 
1/3 c. corn oil
1/2 c. chopped onions
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. sugar
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c. beer

Combine above ingredients and pour over 2 pounds of cleaned mussels. Sprinkle generously with paprika. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees at least 1 hour. Serve with steamed rice. Serves 4.
