MOHRUBEN -- TORTE (Carrot Cake) | |
8 eggs 2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. orange juice 1 orange rind, grated 1 lb. cooked carrots & pressed through a sieve 1 lb. almonds, ground finely Beat the egg yolks until thick, slowly add sugar, juice, rind, carrots and almonds. Beat egg whites until stiff and mix with ingredients. Pour in 1 ungreased cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool and serve with whip cream. |
