NEW ENGLAND "BOILED DINNER" 
4 lbs. corned beef
6 whole small carrots
6 turnips, diced
6 whole small potatoes, peeled
6 sm. onions
1 head cabbage, cut in wedges

Cover beef with cold water. Bring to boiling. Simmer slowly 40 to 50 minutes per pound, about 3 1/2 hours.

Add carrots, turnips, potatoes, and onions 45 minutes before beef is done. Add cabbage for last 15 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
