JOYCE'S FRESH TACOS | |
1 lb. ground beef salt and pepper, to taste corn tortillas (not white ones) 1/4 head chopped lettuce 1 tomato 1/4 chopped onion 2 cups grated cheese green taco sauce or salsa Chop lettuce, tomatoes, onion and grate cheese (cheddar being best). Sauté hamburger adding salt and pepper to taste, more salt seems to taste better. Drain fat from hamburger, set aside and keep warm. Heat 1/2-inch oil to medium high. Place corn tortilla in pan, using fork in one hand and another tortilla in the other fold tortilla in half. Takes seconds, turn tortilla for a few seconds onto other side, remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Tortilla's stay soft, can be made crisp or purchased but soft fried are the BEST. Place ground meat in shell, sauce, cheese, onions, lettuce and then tomatoes. Submitted by: Joyce W. |
