LIME JELLO PIES | |
This recipe came from an old women's magazine in the 1950s. It is great on a hot day. 1 cup sugar 1 (3 oz.) pkg. lime Jello 1 cup boiling water 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk, chilled juice of 2 lemons or lime green food coloring (optional) 2 prepared graham cracker crusts 1 pint whipping cream Combine sugar, Jello and boiling water and place in refrigerator until slightly thickened. Chill evaporated milk overnight. Remove from refrigerator. Add lemon juice and heat until thick. Slightly beat Jello mixture. Add green coloring, if desired, and fold into whipped milk until well mixed. Pour into crust and put into refrigerator to chill. Top with whipped cream. Makes two 9-inch pies. Submitted by: LJR |
